2D Raman–THz Spectroscopy of Binary CHBr<sub>3</sub>–MeOH Solvent Mixture

Hybrid two-dimensional (2D) Raman-terahertz spectroscopy is used to measure the interactions between two solvents pair in binary CHBr3-MeOH mixture frequency range of 1-7 THz. Changes cross peak signature are monitored, originating from coupling an intramolecular bending mode CHBr3 collective intermolecular degrees freedom mixture. The appearance a new 2D spectrum measured for solvent with MeOH molar fraction 0.3 indicates set low-frequency modes formed due hydrogen bond solvents. This interpretation supported by measurement CHBr3-CS2 as well 1D absorption measurements neat MeOH.
